112k, low oil pressure light and ding comes on and stays on entire time running,

has high miles fresh oil change to rule out and did not help at all. where should I start? sensor? sending unit? pump????

You can put in a new oil pressure sending unit, for starters. Then run the engine to see if that was the problem. You could also buy a tube type oil pressure gauge and that would give an exact measurement of the engine oil pressure.

Have someone check your oil pressure with a mechanical gauge. It could just be a sensor, or could actually be lack of oil pressure and destroy your engine. I would advise not taking that gamble and get it checked out.

i agree with andrew needs to be checked with a mechanical guage to see if pressure is within spec first that will tell u if it is a faulty sender wiring, or oil pump
