06 chevy impala

Asked by Ashl3y07 Apr 15, 2017 at 02:42 AM about the 2006 Chevrolet Impala LS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an 06 chevy impala. I was driving it one
morning, when the car died. I first thought it was
the battery, but then i started smelling gas. There
was a huge gas puddle under my car. Wen we
finally got it home from pulling it, my husband
dropped the gas tank and when you turn the
ignition on gas sprays out from a white plastic
piece on top of the gas tank. Were not sure what
this plastic piece is called or if we can just replace
tht one piece,  or the whole pump?

Ok thank you. If i replace the pump, is there anything else i might need to replace as well? Like any fuel lines etc

maybe a fuel filter bult into one of the lines..ask the parts guy...ok...K maybe a spanner tool..depends on how tight it is spray it well with wd 40 after you spray it off with water if its dirty..so nothing falls into the gas tank hole

and check those push on lines right at the inlet there on top of the fuel pump.. also some crack.. if///when you eplace the pump make sure the float rod snaps in good
