2006 impala heat/ac does not turn on when temps outside get cold.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Replaced blower motor last year and it worked fine all through summer but when temps drop below ~45F the fan does not work on any setting. Sometimes it will kick on when its cold. I sometimes hear a groaning noise from dash when i try to start it. There have been times where I hit the dash and it kicks on but that is working less and less.

Most likely the resistor block near the blower motor is burned out. Unplug it and inspect the plug. It's probably burned. GMs are good for that! Hope that helps! Jim
