2006 Impala SS front end noise when braking

Asked by crysndave May 29, 2014 at 02:19 PM about the 2006 Chevrolet Impala SS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am hearing a very loud noise on the front right side when I brake. It sounds like a metal plate spinning around and sometimes continues for a second or two after the car has stopped. When the car warms up I don't usually hear it any more. By the time I get it to the mechanical I can't hear it any more and neither can he. The mechanic and I have searched forums and cannot find anything to shed light on the cause.

your engine is hot and the wheel stops making a noise? you are at a full stop and the wheel is making a noise? your licensed mechanic has looked at AND inspected your car??? AS LONG AS YOUR LICENSED MECHANIC CERTIFIES IT AS A SAFE & ROAD- WORTHY VEHICLE then I'd say you are okay. eerie noises may require a power of a different kind to solve.

oh come on Tom- I know you are a real gentleman in the way you give answers BUT REALLY. The spinning noise that comes with braking and continues spinning after the vehicle stops and goes away when the car warms up and the mechanic can't find??? :):):):):)
