Question type: Maintenance & Repair
i had an issue with acceleration above 3000 rpm and after replacing the Cat
and oxygen sensors. No change. then coil packs + wires+plugs finally figure out
it was the fuel pump. Dealer is telling me all related to fuel pump going. Is this
at all probable or just line of BS.

I have not seen that. You will use more gas when check engine light is on. Like brad said. A clogged filter or continuously running fuel too low will wear out the pump. I think this is a sales tactic. It probably needed changed due to age of vehicle but not experienced what they told you. I call them stealerships
Maintenance stuff needed changed that is
I have had fuel pumps last 20 years and got rid of car with original pump. In fact I have never replaced a fuel pump in any of my personally owned vehicles. All Toyotas. I will say that I keep good maintenance and I don’t run fuel below 3/8 of a tank. I have put 1.7 million miles on all my Toyotas combined. Never replaced a starter either. 1 alternator. All went to at least 225K except one I sold at 80K.
