Rattle in front end

Asked by Trever12002 Jan 20, 2019 at 01:25 PM about the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer LS 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an 06 trailblazer that has a rattle coming
from somewhere in the front. But the rattle stops
when I apply the brakes. Any ideas? Bad hub, loose
calipers, bushings????

Thank you. Ill have to pull the front wheels off and check it out when the weather gets better. Other than the rattle, it rides good and sounds solid

Rattling could be lots of thing, 1st place I'd look is the swaybar end links, these are notorious for going bad on our platform. Other places, upper and lower control arm bushings and ball joints, sway bar bushings. Lately I've seen the caliper bracket bolts coming loose, another spot to check. If you're not lifted, Detroit Axle replacement parts on ebay has been pretty good for most of us. My entire front end is Detroit Axle with no problems.
