Common cause loosing gears wile on drive

I was headed home from work on the freeway
when I exited I noticed my blazer acting
different I had to stop for red light green light
came and the car started going but it was
hesitating the rpm were going but the car
wasn't I had to stop for another red light green
came and my blazer was not moving at all no
gears were working but park position does
work the shifter works properly I looked at
dash bored and the gauge goes in to all gears
but car won't move...please help thank you.

Sounds like the transmission went bye bye, but with all the electronic controls the only way to be sure is to have a transmission shop run tests on it.
