The idle on such vehicle is computer controlled. So, even if you manually rise the idle, the computer will adjust according to factors such as incoming air, exhaust emissions, crank position, and other factors. Not sure what the problem your having, but I would advise ageist doing work on the idle position. Please click on "Mark helpful" if you're happy with the respond. Good luck :-)

Thanks mark the problem it warms to normal temp and then stalls when I stop for lights etc. But if I feather the gas a bit it stays running ???

The most reasonable thing to start with in such vehicle is to scan the computer for codes. Bad plugs would make the engine run rich leading to high exhaust emissions, finally the Oxygen sensor would send a signal to the computer to decrease the fuel. This is just one example. Another common factor in your situation would be a bad throttle position sensor. Good luck :-)

Check for vacuum leaks. Slight cracks on vacuum lines will cause it to do that too
