toyota prius transmission slipping

If this is an standard transmission, then it's time to have the clutch replaced.
It has no clutch. It has a hybrid synergy drive that has no fixed gears. It works very differently and the revs go up quickly and easily when you accelerate hard. This seems like a manual transmission with a failing clutch or a typical automatic transmission with a failing torque converter. It's not failing; it's by design (and more efficient) in your Prius and cars with a CVT.
Prius has a permanent dual clutch that applies pressure to the engine and transmission plates. It does not engage or disengage. It can slip if worn severely.
