i have a 04 toytoa prius and some one stole my key fob... but i have the metel key still. can i start my car with that metal key?? please help

Call a Prius dealer & ask the same question. If you need the fob, you probably will have to go to the dealer to get it.

Yes, the regular key or valet key will unlock and start it, it may set off the alarm, just put the key in and start ........the alarm will stop

By the way, if somebody stole your fob have the dealer disable that system, or get a new one with a different code..think about that....

where would i put the key for that to happen? and the dealer cant do anything until the car is on there lot

There is no key-hole in the door? If not, then I back off, if there is no hey hole in the door shows my ignorance on the car. Sorry i couldn't help, except to suggest have it towed on a flat bed--insist on that!!!! to the dealer, do not allow them to tow your car with wheels on ground, if no flatbed demand a dolly

Doesn't the prius have a lock cylinder in the driver side door? It's supposed to be there, it's a security feature in case the battery in the key fob dies for whatever reason.

I looked at pictures of Prius' 2004 and I can see something on the drivers door that sure looks like a key hole. I can't imagine they would design a car, any car, that relies solely on the fob
