Your best bet would be to go with an aftermarket stereo, adapter harness, and adapter faceplate. It's not worth spending the money for a newer factory radio which will likely still have less options and power than an aftermarket stereo which will be cheaper and easier to mount up.
although the 4runner has a double din in the instrument planel, the stereo from the newer toyotas is much two wide, i installed a sony and then ungraded to a kenwood and its great, an after market stereo would be more convinient
hammer,screwdriver,sawsall....anything can be made to fit...
An 05 factroy unit is huge and a 92 hole is not. Just go to crutchfeild.com or your toyo dealer
yes any radio will fit...i went to halfords and bought a wiring kit for toyota to clarion for about £15. it plugs into your existing stereo wiring loom then the other end onto new radio!!!! easy peasy!!! good luck
