usually the 4runner will get anywhere from 12-14 miles per gallon on the highway, the only difference is that the 4wd 4runner has a tank that is 3 gallons bigger than the 2wd, and because of the additional hardware might get about 10-12 miles per gallon

From personal experience. Mostly town driving average 14 solid. When it gets out on the interstate with some town on the rest of the tank about 14.5-15.0 mpg.

I drive mostly highway, at 65-70mph. I get 19mpg, I have a 5sp, and unlocked hubs, which both work in my favor.
