front electronic hubs will not lock, what can i do

Asked by allout Sep 05, 2007 at 08:43 PM about the 1994 Toyota 4Runner 4 Dr SR5 4WD SUV

front drive shaft will lock into transmision
no power is making it to the wheels
electronic celinoid was recently replaced
worked for a peroid of time and now am suck in ditches with no 4x4

Hi allout, Unless you have an electrical short the selenoid should still be working. I would open or have your transfer case and/or your front differential examined. I'd be looking for abnormally worn/damaged gear teeth or even damaged universal joints. I'm not a transmission specialist, but this is sounds like more than just a selenoid going bad. Good luck!
