I do not use this vehicle for hauling, towing or intentionally 4-wheeling. It is used mostly
for in town driving. Other than obvious changes in speed and fuel consumption, is there
any reason the P215s wouldn't work?
a 215/75 tire will be not only be narrower, but also shorter. You wanna know why the tires are 235mm wide instead of 215mm wide, suv are heavy, skinnier tires will not stop as well since there is less rubber on the road, and also handling will be decreased and even though you dont drive it like a race car, there are those oh sh!t moments when you need to slam on your brakes are jerk the steering wheel in a certain direction so i would never recommend a skinnier tire than factory, I would actually consider it dangerous. You are effectively reducing the tire contact spot on the road by 10% so it will take you car 10% longer distance to stop.
A 215 may not have the weight rating for the truck. Stick with the 225. The difference in price is about $2. You will spend that much more on fuel in the first month with the smaller tires!
