Yesterday I was driving and a yellow light with the word "check" and a symbol of what I think is an engine came on. I am concerned as to what this light is warning me about. I would appreciate it if you could lend me some assistance. Thanks

Its a check engine light. It means that something has gone wrong with the engine. It could be anything from a loose gas cap to a major engine problem. You should probably have it seen to by a mechanic just in case it is something major.
go to an autozone, they have fredd obd scanning which will check ur engine lights and codes and let you know what it is.
that light only comes on when you have serious engines problems. a buddy of mine has a 99 4runner, and his check engine light came on, as it turns out, his engine was toast, and he needed a new one. hopefully thats not the case with you, but good luck anyways.
its your check engine light dude and you need access to a scanner to see what is wrong if you live local towards delta or surrey i can help you maybe as i have a scanner
well is your check engine light. could be your gas cap loose or somethings wrong with under the hood. It could be an emission control malfunction. which helps keep your air a little cleaner. or you could have gotten your engine wet or maybe your spark plugs are bad
It would most likely be the enigne cap that is just loose, but it can be something more problematic
