I have a 1999 Toyota 4runner and the gearshift is locked, is there any way to unlock it?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

and where is the unlock switch

Look on the console next to the shifter, you should see a square plug. Use a small flat screwdriver and pop that off. Then stick either the screwdriver or even you finger in there and push the lever. Hold and put shifter in N. Then to fix it, check your brake light fuse.
