my avital car alarm works but wont chirp

i have a 95 toy avalon xl.I have a after market alarm system made by
avital.Lately when i go to lock it with remote the lights flash but it dont chirp.I
keep resetting it and it works but not long.I noticed the chirps been getting
weaker and weaker now it dont work at all but the remote still locks the car
but in silence.I live in a bad neighbor hood please help before i buy a whole
new alarm and i really cant afford it right now.

Check the units power and grounds, make sure they are clean and no corrosion anywhere. You should also check all the connections, look for any rust or green corrosion on the pins, if you seen green corrosion on the control box pins then electrolysis has begun and it won’t be long before it fails entirely.
