I have a 1996 chevy c1500 but im having a hard time finding used trasmissoins i can afford so can i swap my c1500 2 wheel on to a96 chevy tohoe frame in hopes of making my c1500 4x4

I have a 1996 chevy c1500 but im having a hard time finding used trasmissoins i can afford so can i swap my c1500 2 wheel drive extended cabBody on to a96 chevy tohoe frame can i just do a body swap the 2 because the tahoe is an exsended version
When the Thermometer comes on the AC works but the if Thermometer doesn't come on the AC will not turn on. Is it the Relay or something else.
