avalon temperature guage goes slight down

I have a 99 Toyota avalon. Works great. Recently, i observed that
temperature guage slightly goes down when it is on a freeway. I do feel as if i
need to push more on throttle to get the same speed. It is almost as if it is
loosing power. Upon coll down or when i part the car, it recovers. Anyone
know what's going on? I do not turn on the A/C in my car.

it should go down when you are at highway speeds...the cooler the outside temp the gauge will go down a few degrees...I think everything is ok....

joemon, thanks! I do feel loss of power. I need to push pedal more to keep up the speed. This was not the case earlier. Thoughts?
Then its something else, when is the last time you has a full tune-up on the car?
