The year in my car will not go beyond 2018??

Asked by Avalonforlife Jan 08, 2019 at 08:30 PM about the 2000 Toyota Avalon XLS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I noticed that after the new year my car was
stuck on January 1, 2018. It was the 5th and it’s
2019. I went to change it and it flipped back to
1999! I can go up through all the year and after
2018, it goes back to 1999!
Now this is not vastly important, but I’m just
curious if I can get it to the right year?

Sounds like a computer glitch. Not designed to go beyond. Maybe there is a computer update out there to reprogram the computer. Check with dealer.

I just discovered the same problem. I have not checked with a dealer but doubt there is a fix. I really like my 2000. It looks great and runs well !

I found that the year 2002 put the day and month to the correct day and month for this year of 2019 for my 2000 Avalon. Try using the year. 2 0 0 2
