2001 Avalon won't start

Asked by Stephanie May 26, 2016 at 09:20 AM about the 2001 Toyota Avalon XLS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2001 Toyota Avalon that cranks
but won't start. It sounds like it isn't getting
fuel but it is. I even used starting fluid
incase it wasn't getting enough but no fire.
Checked spark plugs and they are getting
fire. Checked compression as well. I notice
when I put the key in to the ON position I
don't get the ding I should. I'm thinking its
security related? It's getting fire, fuel,
compression and air. I can't think what else
it could be. And it's getting some RPM
readings so I don't think it's the CPS.
HELP!

I just went through this. I'm willing to bet it's your fuel pump that is going/gone out. Mine did the exact same thing, had it replaced and starts/drives like a charm.
