how high is the trunk and the battery on 1991 Camry from the ground?

Asked by SeaSurge1 Oct 24, 2014 at 11:18 AM about the 1991 Toyota Camry LE

Question type: General

if you open the car trunk, and there is two inches of water being held in the trunk, how
high is the water level from the ground to inside the trunk?  if the alarm was in constant
sound mode, where did flood water hit in order for the alarm to go off?  how high is that
spot (battery?) from the ground?

Usually if you have water in the trunk, it's from bad tail light seals. Like Tom said, bad weather stripping.

thank you, but I am asking because we were evacuated during Superstorm Sandy and I was able to move 3 out of the 4 cars we have to higher ground before the sea surge and trying to figure out how high the sea-surge was where I left the last car, the old Camry, parked. The entire car was full of condensation and soaking wet so badly that you could not see in the windows, but there were clear signs of the pooling in the trunk, and what set off the alarm that some people blocks away heard for 24 hours? - was it salt on the battery or something under the seat by wiring? can anyone say in inches how high the sea-surge had to have at least been?

Funny, myself and an acquaintance have the same problem. Hey the rubber seal on the rear lenses are 25 years old.
