Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Not too mechanically inclined and never drove a Toy. Have had this 92 Camry for a couple months now and very happy with it; it was excellently maintained before I got it. So recently this LIGHT comes on whenever I brake.. like I'm in Reverse. Only I'm not. Not all the time at first, now every time. Really 'nags' at me, somebody tell me: What does this mean?

Check to see that when you hit the brakes, that the brake lights are working properly in the rear. If they are working, place the car in reverse and see if your reverse lights are illuminating. I'm guessing that one of your reverse bulbs has burned out. If all bulbs are illuminating, when car is in reverse, remove bulbs and make sure that they are all the same. Someone may have put in the wrong bulb and it's causing you to get a fault signal. Also check your brake fluid level in your reservoir. If it gets too low that will cause a warning light to come on also.

Had this issue with 91 camry, found two broken wires in trunck harness where it flexes near the left side hinge, repaired wires problem solved, this was also causing a juddering feeling when stopping that would go away if shifted to neutral
