1992 Camry. In the morning it starts OK. Then I drive a short distance (around 1 mile) then stop, the car won't restart.

Only when the engine is cold, it won't restart right away (no cranking at all) if I drove a short distance, stopped, then restart. I had to wait 5-10 minutes then it restarted OK. I had new starter and battery. Please help me to pinpoint exactly what the problem is.

It's the pickups in your distributor. You can try another distributor from a salvage yard, or get a replacement on Ebay. You can also order one from Rockauto.com. I have had the same issue with my '95 Camry and my '89 4X4. I didn't buy a new distributor. I just hot wired my ignition direct to the battery via a push button under the dash.

Runs fine rest of time, have had some mechanics look at it but it doesn't act up then. Any hints or thoughts on what it could be, have been told it might be a fuel issue, but that has been looked at.
