engine misfire at idle

Asked by Guru9TFHXM Mar 31, 2021 at 08:31 AM about the 1993 Toyota Camry LE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

On my 93 Camry 4 banger, the engine has serious misfire at idle. In drive the
miss gets worse.  Move the tach from idle to 700 rpm the miss is gone. I can
still feel a misfire but very little.   As I drive I can feel the engine misfire.  I
disconnected the TPS and misfire is gone, nice smooth idle.   I have to
manually shift the tranny to accelerate.  I replaced the TPS and the misfire is
back.  I've inspected the spark plugs, ohmed the plug wires, replaced the
rotor, checked the cap and all is in good shape.

Locate the EGR Valve and Regulator. Disconnect and plug the Vacuum Lines with the engine not running. Get back with results.
