Can you get the D to display by moving the gear shift lever through ALL the gear ranges?
OK...I agree with Tenniss.....the diagnosis starts with a check of the Park Neutral Switch. The diagnosis requires the skillful use of a Digital Volt Ohm Meter...and....a wiring diagram of the appropriate circuit.
