Sounds like the EGR Valve is is coming on to strong and to soon. Check the Vacuum Switching Valve controlling the EGR. Reference to the Vacuum DIAGRAM sticker located under the hood. Also there is a Filter located under the CAP of the EGR Modulator. Ultimatelly....a good test to rule out theEGR....is to disconnect the and plug the rubber vacuum hoses to that valve. Road test. Let us know what the result is.
