1996 Toyota Camry Dx 2.2L, vibrates very bad only when I'm backing up! Why?

You might want to check the drive axles on the vehicle. Jack up the front. Be careful where you put the jack. Put car stands under the lower control arms of the suspension system....so that the vehicle front suspension is "loaded". Put the car in neutral and manually spin each wheel. One hand on the tire....the other hand on the drive axle for that wheel. Twist each hand in opposite directions. See if you feel any play in the CV Joints. Lastly.....you might start her up and with the engine idling....put her in reverse and see if she vibrates with the wheels jacked up.
