Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 1998 Toyota Camry 4 cylinders runs perfect at now 149k mikes, automatic
transmission. It has just recently happened that intermittent rough down Idle occurs.
While stopping at the red light, the idle stables for 5-6 seconds, then rough down idle
appears for 1/2 second. I thought the engine was going to die down but it happens for
1/2 second, then it come back stable for 5-6 seconds and the rough down idle appears
again. I hope my description will make sense to you. I really need help for this issues.
Thanks a lot in advanced.

I would test for a spark issue. Open the hood at night, take a spray bottle of water and mist down your distributor, spark plug wires, and coil. If any one of these are bad, you should see the sparks fly. Just replace. If you do this and still have an issue, please post an answer.......good luck!
