99 Camry stalling/shutting off when slowing down or stopped

Asked by Lpfreek2169 Nov 12, 2018 at 11:18 PM about the 1999 Toyota Camry LE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 99 Camry LE with 199xxx miles, lately it has been
stalling or shutting off when stopped or slowing down. I'm
also getting horrible gas mileage burned thru a full tank to a
quarter above E in five days. Took it to the shop they changed
a bad ignition coil. Cleaned the throttle body and some other
sensors and things, and I'm still having the same issue. It isn't
throwing any codes for anything but O2 sensor and exhaust
when it is read with the check engine reader thing. ( I don't
have a muffler and haven't had one in six months but I know
that isn't the problem I've always had good gas mileage with
and without it). Does anyone know what this could be please
don't tell me it's because of not having a muffler I know that's
not why.

Ive been to the shop. My car doesn't code for anything other then the exhaust and O2 sensor due to me not having a muffler. Throttle body and some other sensors and things were cleaned at the shop. The EGR valve is less then 8 months old, it was replaced in early spring due to my car coding for it back then. As of now the shop is at less for what the issue could be. I'm wondering if it is a issue with fuel lines or the pump.

I have the same problem with my 99 Camry, My mechanic cleaned the throttle body ,checked the evr, injector, map sensor, all other test need to do and also checked vacuum leak.tune up, still couldn't ' find out the problem and return my car to have second advise. He said may be fuel pump but not sure.so going to other mechanic to see what happened.
