Oil Leakage from under.

Asked by abraham Mar 05, 2010 at 01:07 AM about the 1999 Toyota Camry XLE V6

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

A sudden emission of embarasing smoke while on speed. A local repairer diagnosed transmission oil  leakage and replaced the gearbox oil-seal; but the leakage became worse. The gear engages whenever the transmission oil is addded to guage and the car moves smoothly. No external evidence of a crack in the gear box casing. My car is a Saloon Camry V6 XLE (automatic). What can I do?

the replaced seal may not have broken in well and may very well be leaking worse than the old one.
