If not over heating, I wouldn't worry. You may have a bad engine temp sensor. You could have an air pocket in the system. Did your temp gauge always read high, or just since you replaced the thermostat?

yes my temp gauge always read high, even before replacing the thermostat.
There are two things you can try. Buy and air bleed kit, and see if you have an air pocket, or replace your engine temp sensor. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it as long as the car is not over heating.
