There's two connectors on my battery wood screws and I think that's my connection I start my car everything comes on but it cranks like it wants to start but it won't start like something's

When I try starting my car it cranks like it wants to
start everything else comes on lights gauges
there's two things with screws on my battery and I
think they say that's my connection I don't know it
seems like everytime my engine is hot or it feels
hot it does that but when I let it cool down for good
30 minutes it starts up

As I understand it your car starts fine when cold but does not start at all when at running temperature? Is the engine light on?
