cooling system

The Cooling Fan circuit on this vehicle is somewhat complicated. About all you can do with out a wiring diagram and a Volt/Ohm Meter is check for blown fuses. Do you see s Sensor/Switch protruding from the Radiator with 2 wires coming out of it?

You could have a manual switch override to turn the fans on anytime you feel it's necessary... I had an old 78 Rabbit and the car's fan came on intermittently when the engine temperature reached a certain level, however, in the summer, I wanted to switch it on and keep it there... It worked to keep the engine cooler....

Tony and Mark gave good advice. Remember to also check that your coolant level is full when cold. If you are low on coolant, sensors will not give the appropriate reading. Also check to make sure you don't have any check engine codes stored. Auto zone will check these for free. Hope this helps.

Orlando....did you ever get. the problem fans to operate properly on this vehicle?

So...Orlando....what happened with the issue with this vehicle?

The AC test is good, it shows the fans and part of the electrical are working. The sensor acts like a simple switch. Open (or Off) when below the set-point, Closed (or On) above the set-point. You can check the wiring buy jumping the 2 pins together. This should turn the fans on regardless of the temp. The sensor should trigger at a little over 190, so more like 200. The suggested manual-over-ride should only be in-addition-to a working system, not instead-of. But that's another conversation.
