car won't start without a jump

I just replaced the starter in my 2001 Toyota Camry, but now the battery doesn't seem to be holding a charge. it will start with a jump and then run no problem. but turn it off for any duration of time and need to jump it again. would this be a battery or a alternator issue?

Bring it to Auto zone or a good parts store that will put a load test on the alternator for you to see if it is charging and putting out enough voltage.
