You need to remove the tank and clean it out. Install a new fuel filter and blow out the fuel lines.

If the car was truly not started or cranked at all, then all the crap is in the tank only. Ist off... how do you know about it before hand? Was it all over the ground by the filler neck? And secondly... what did you do to someone and why is she pissed! : D First, I do not need to tell you the flamable and explosive dangers of doing this procedure, right? Put out your cigarette or blunt. Use no spark-causing tools or electronics. Next, siphon off as much tainted gasoline as you can through the filler neck. Then, you remove the back seat, which is pretty easy to do. This will gain you access to the top of the gas tank. Remove the tanks access lid which will allow you to clean out the tank. Remove all gas and use shop vac to clean remainder. Replace the filter sock over the fuel pump, and consider replacing the fuel pump too with a Toyota or good Toyota replacement (do not use a cheap 3rd party fuel pump as almost none of them work properly). Put all back together with new filter sock and wash up. Relight cigarette or blunt after getting gas at station. Buy flowers for her or call attorney.

Oh, and watch out for static discharge which can also ignight gas vapor.
