Check the shift select sensor and the transmission fluid level.
Check 1st any code Shows up .. # 2nd Wait at least 1 hour to cool down engine then start engine again and shift gear position to D . if car start running or feel transmission engaged. Ready to going forward after release Brake pedal , That means transmission solenoid is bad . It was locked out when engine become Hot. Once engine cool down start working and it will Die again within few mins. Or after Short time Driving . Suggestion replace transmission Solenoids.

guys ,a transmission that won't engage and has a winning noise ,kind of noise like wen you run out of powersteering fluid means your teanny oil filter is cloged ,a shifter operated trany only uses sensors fr shifting ,speed information, they engage ,on oil pressure, now if its a knob shifter or button yes it applies on sensors
