what can cause poor mpg on a 2004 camry i4

Were you putting ethanol gas in your old one, or the good old ethanol free? Ethanol gets poorer milage than regular gas. It is also the dead of winter (depending on location). Cars get poorer gas milage during the winter months. If you were driving your old car during the summer and comparing it to the car you are driving now during the winter, your old car will seem to have the better milage. They also produce a winter "blend" and a summer "blend" gasoline. Not sure if that will change milage or not...... But on another completely different angle, I have always felt that the U.S. built cars have been "tweaked" to purposely get worse gas milage than the ones not built here.
