Engine doesn't turn over

Asked by Rcyr Dec 26, 2015 at 08:41 PM about the 2006 Toyota Camry XLE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

For about three years we have sometimes needed
to turn the steering wheel in order to get our car to
turn over and start.  Now that doesn't even work.
We recently had a new starter put in and we just
had a new battery installed three months ago.
Today I wiggled wires attached to the ignition
switch and at one point the starter turned over.  I
was unable to get it to turn over again.
We only have less then 57,000 miles on our car.
