Interior colors on 2006 Toyota Solara Conv
Asked by linkgregory Jan 11, 2008 at 01:32 PM about the 2006 Toyota Camry Solara SLE Convertible
Question type: General
I purchased a used 2006 Toyota Solara Convertible, Lunar Mist Metallic (Silver) with black cloth top. The interior trim is a grey leather. The car did not come with floormats, so I purchased some online. I was told the 2006 convertible interior color I had was Dark Stone. When the mats arrived, they were much lighter in color than the carpet. My question is, did the 2006 Solara Conv possible come with a Charcoal interior? How can I know for certain what color my interior is called to make sure I get mats that match?

You need to take this to a Toyota dealer and have them pull up the VIN number, which will tell you the factory name and color code for the interior color.

Actually, the VIN doesn't have the interior color. It contains: country, make, type, body, engine, series, restraints, model, check dig, year, assembly plant and 5 digit seq #. No color (exterior or interior) is part of VIN : (
won't this info be on the "protec-o-plate" (that is what the used to be called, on the inner fender of the old cars). I do belive the info you need is on a sticker that will be on the underside of your trunk or in your glove box. It lists all the info for your car. Hope this helps.

Actually, I stand corrected. The dealer told me the following: Our EPC breaks down the VIN further (it knows, by VIN data - not necessarily the VIN numbers themselves - the month of production, which option package, factory installed accessories, etc) and then delineates all parts not relevant. We get the internal trim code (LA10) and then by simply looking at any interior piece we know exactly what the interior color name was. They told me mine is "Dark Stone" although that doesn't explain the mis-match...
