I am looking to buy a 2006 Toyota Solara with a timing chain.

You don't really have to change the chain on Toyotas. Their vvti cam gears are known to go bad if you're hearing a rattle at cold starts. Even when you do those, most of the time you re use the chain and replace the guides and tensioners. Toyota timing chain motors need water pumps every 90,000 miles and possibly the front timing chain cover resealed around every 90,000 miles also.
