No, it's a 1.6L. I have a 91 celica as well, which is a 5 speed, and the guy I got it from put in a 95 Toyota Corolla motor and tranny into it. Obviously ot wasn't meant to be a race car but it defiantly has some go to it

Okay what if it's going to be a show car is it best to put a little 1.6 or 2.2 . I have currently have 1991 toyota celica st and the engine is shit. Who ever the owners where who own the car before me didn't care about the car. Thinking about taking out the engine and maybe salvaging the transmission if possible and if not what engine and trans fit better in the car. Not looking for speed just reliability.
