What should i do after i changed my fuel pump and car still won't start.

Have a 1992 toyota celica gt and ran it out of gas. Before that didn't really
have a problem with it except everyonce in a while it wouldn't start after its
been running awhile and got hot. I put gas in and it started but quickly died.  
I changed the fuel pump and it worked fine for a day then started doing the
same thing, Starts fine then cuts off after a few mins or secs. it depends.  
also now my brake dont seem to be working, can press the break all the
way to the floor sometimes and othertimes it works fine and curise ir not
working. not sure if they they have anything to do with the other just putting
it out there. main focus is getting it started. thanks for the help
