After replacing that sensor you then have to cancel the code and see if it comes back. Those sensors have to set in with a 0.030 inch clearance to the flywheel to work right and yet not hit the rotating flywheel. (That 0.030" gap is about the thickness of a thumbnail.) Backfire usually means a spark problem so keep after it and you will get it. Maybe check one plug to see if they need replaced.
Yeah I'm still fixing it up I traded my motorcycle for is so I gotta get a new hood and headlights the guy hit a baby deer and said he was done with it. I was gonna put new spark plugs and coils in it recommended from factory I work at oreillys so the parts are easy to get tho I'll probably go to the dealership for the coils cause of course we dont have acdelco coils.

Good luck with your repairs. It's great that you even work at a parts place. I avoid dealerships and I think aftermarket coils will work fine. Have fun.
Oh I definitely will I'd like to do an msd set up on it!
Alright I'm still running into the crank problem on the cobalt Tuesday I'll post a comment with a YouTube link attached to see what people think I've tried a couple of things and still dont get it
