My cruise control is no longer working. Help me diagnose please!

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a hunch it's a simple fuse problem, but I can't seem to find where this
particular fuse box is. The manual didn't help at all either.
The two I did find were in the engine compartment, but I'm not sure if any of
them connect to the CC. The manual did not state so anyway.
The CC lights come on when "turned on" but the CC just doesn't work.
Any thoughts?

Do you have brake light bulbs burnt out?
From the beginning when I got my 92 Celica, I just thought I didnt know how to work the CC so I kept trying in various scenarios (long straight roads, same steady speed, holding the gas, not holding the gas pedal etc.) and I tried pressing all kinds of buttons... to my surprise, one of the combinations worked once, and then I couldnt get it to work again another day, and then it worked again some other time. It's crazy, I thought I had it down but in reality there should be no trick to it. I think mine is broken too to some extent and I just get lucky sometimes. when it works, it works ok. I live in a mountain, curvy area. I really can't use it even on the high way, there are just too many high low roads. on elevation and down hills the CC blinks and then shuts off. I'm afraid to break it. It also happened again that it just blinked for a bit and shut off after an hour of straight road, then didnt want to turn back on at all not even the CC light. It really sucks. seems like some wire engine communication problem. good luck!
