Should the Overdrive button on the shifter click on and click off to change it? With mine, you have to hold the OD button down for it to drive in OD, and when you lift your finger it turns off.

Should the Overdrive button on the shifter click on and click off to change it? With mine,
you have to hold the OD button down with your thumb for it to drive in OD, and when you
lift your thumb it turns off. Is this normal?

This is not normal. The overdrive button should only have to be pressed and then it should stay on and then clicked again to turn it off. Your button is broken.
