Hello Jim I went to the dealer and they told me the car didn't turn on with the ignition switch and cylinder they had gotten confused with another cobalt thinking my car turned on.. Well this time I went the Symbol on the Dashboard(Anti Theft lock) was now blinking which it wasn't before. What can I do?!
Yes i was Really Upset because they suppose to do everything.. And no the car won't turn on Only The Radio and dashboard lights and Headlights when I try turn it on and like I told you only the anti theft lock symbol stays there blinking.. My uncle said that he would call someone he knew that could reset car computers you think that you would be a good thing to do?
I'm going to let him do a diagnosis on the computer and see what the real problem is.
Jim the actual problem was the fuse box and relays That were burnt i had the auto electric come and They fixed the problem i had the fuse box and relays replaced and it works perfectly now!! Thanks For all the Help Very Helpful Jim.

I just got a 2008 Chevy Cobalt 9 days ago. It was doing fine up until the 7th day, got in it too go to work soon as I crank up a light with a car and lock came on and I lost power and all my lights and gas mileage was going crazy.. I took it too a mechanic shop, they could not even get it to pull a code.so, they intested my battery which was good. Then they tested my alternator, No charge at all. Replaced alternator, now the car/lock light went off, I got my power steering back, also it runs way better than it did!!! I thought it was strange that a new alternator fixed this problem. But I'm thankful that it did!!
This just happened to our 2007 Silverado. Would not crank , security light was on. Changed dlis fuse and light went off and started right up
Its not in the manual, first off, Mine came on when I turned the car off and stated again, it went out. It was a car with a pad lock in it. I've never seen it before.
Our 2009 Cobalt did the same. It’s like the engine totally seized up. Had to have it towed. Dealer says it’s a voltage issue. Threw all sorts of voltage codes. Hoping this fixes the problem.

I took my 2010 Cobalt to a mechanic & he didn't find the problem I had but made it worse. The anti theft lock is on with low fuel & power steering lights as well (they weren't on before) then I put $10 gas but it doesn't read it. The RPM nor MPH meter are working. I was able to turn on the car with the lock on but if I turn it off, it takes a long time to turn back on. Could it be an electrical issue (electrical mechanic said it wasn't last time he checked it) I've been to 6 mechanics & they all hate my car lol..any tips??

2010 Chevy cobalt lockout symbol would not start clean the grounds that are going to the engine block. That is the problem. There are two grounds on the front of the engine block next to The oil filter housing those grounds need to be cleaned. Car started right up. It is a known problem.
