Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Will setting off alarm in 2005 Chevy cobalt cause battery problems if not
turned off with key fob? It started and ran f fine until I set the alarm off now
we have to jump the battery every morning.

I don't think the two issues are related at all. Just coincidence. Sounds like you need a new battery. Have the old one load tested to be sure although if its over 5 years old you need a new one anyway. While you're at it check that connections and grounds are all tight and clean. If trouble persists, scan for trouble codes or have a shop that specializes in electrical repairs look at it. Don't start buying parts until you know what's wrong.

That could all be related to a weak battery. Modern auto electrical systems are incredibly sensitive so things like batteries and connections and grounds are all very important. I'd start with making sure that battery is 100% and go from there.

Thanks for taking time to offer advice. We took it over to dealer who sold it to us he checked battery and put a new one in so fingers crossed that's all it was
