Will a 2002 Toyota Celica water pump fit a 2003 Toyota engine

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 Toyota Celica
(which I adore) but had engine
problems a few years back. For
whatever reason, finding a 2002
GT engine was near impossible.
My next option was to hy-bird it.
Corolla is very compatible with
many different parts, (keep that
in mind for those of u that didn't
know) and Corolla parts r
normally a bit cheaper. So being
that seemed to be my only
option at the time, bye bye GT
engine and in went the 1.8L
Corolla engine. Worked pretty
good I must say. But obviously
the engine wasn't new. As I said
before, it was years ago I did
this. As of this week, after
watching coolant pour out from
where the water pump is, I
figured I should go ahead and
fix that. But before ordering my
pump, I'm not sure if I should
order a pump for a Celica GT or
a Corolla for which the engine
actually is... any thoughts or
suggestions...im open ears.
Also, id love to hear from
anyone who has done anything
similar as far as hybirding their
Celica.
