It's it's a manual 5-speed and my brake lights are
staying on when the car is off any idea on what
may be the problem

On your brake pedal there is an electrical switch if you unplug that switch an your tail lights go off that means you need to replace that switch an that will fix your problem!

Probably the switch on the brake pedal, under the dash. It activates the lights...start there. U can unplug and c if lights go off.

I would agree with Mark, if your Brake lights stay on. That generally means that your Break Pedal switch is faulty or stuck in the on position, most likely you will need to replace it. As he said try to un-plug it see if that does the trick. Good luck!
